Actually, that kind of situation helped me get over my general awkwardness. I'm actually friends with some of the most outgoing kids at my school, its wierd! But they all understand the way I am, and are really good friends with me. That certainly helped me get over my shyness a lot, but I still get extreme nervousness doing presentations in front of them. Oh, well. Hopefully that will go away too eventually.

I used to be sociall awkward as well (especially in middle school). I'm a lot more talkative now (although still quiet compared to other people.) I just have never been able to get over my fear of speaking in front of large groups, for some reason. Its my biggest phobia, and I do it so often! Do you know what helped you get over it, or did your fear just go away eventually?

I can't really tell until I get my essay back but at least I am making some degree of progress on my dissertation research. I should actually start writing it soon.
