At the moment, I can't play Stairway that well (besides the opening), but I also have a light loathing for it, and maybe that's because it is played out. Great example of this: everytime a radio station has a countdown of the greatest rock songs of all time, they always pick the same #1. And yet, a masterpiece like Achilles Last Stand goes unchecked.

Speaking of Stairway, here's an excuse to listen to it again.

when you say you'd punch them in the face, do you mean because you can't play that well yet? or would you punch them because it's so played out?

"Get Laid." For music class in 5th-6th grade or so, we were organized into groups and had to pick a song and sing it infront of the class. It's pretty easy to guess which song we chose, and which lyrics to adlib. Our teacher was also a hardcore Christian soldier....

The moment we were done, she sent us to the Principle's office, and bam, got detention.

I love Babe I'm Gonna Leave Joo. That along with Ten Years Gone and Tangerine are my all time faves.
If anyone were to see me with a guitar and ask me to play Stairway, I'd punch them in the face. I'm just not there yet.

I have outgrown hanson, and I don't care for their music anymore, but I will at least defend the fact that they play their own instruments and write their own songs. and they are still together and making music because they love music, not for money

About all star- One day after school in like 10th grade, my mom was dropping my friend mike off at home, and all star was on the radio, and he was singing along and said "hey now you're an all star, get your game on, get laid" I almost died of embarassment (my mom's uber Christian)!

anyway- my favorite zep song.... well I'm not a HUGE zep fan, to be honest. but i do like Babe I'm gonna leave you. I can't play it. I CAN play stairway (what novice guitarist can't?

Hanson? As in MMmm bop Hanson?
Whoa. I'm now feeling this urge to youtube all the music I was brainwashed with in the late 90s. That's bad juju, Mar, bad juju.

You just inspired me to do this, I hope your proud of yourself....

Haha, my brain's fried. Although, as far as movies go, Mystermen still is
    the bomb. <---

Going back to the subject of classic rock: what's your favorite Zep song? And, can you play it?

LOL!!! that reminds me of the kid's sister in almost famous saying "one day, you'll be cool"
I've always enjoyed classic rock. I grew up with it, and my dad bought me my first guitar when I was 6. My dad is from the graduating class of 1976, so I grew up with plenty of good music. He liked to jam out to zep, uriah heep, satriani, boston, and the like. It's in mah blood

that's not to say I didn't flow with the mainstream when I was a young teen. for example- I was in the 3rd row at a hanson concert in 1998. yeah.

    Led Zeppelin.

I once was a pop radio punk who didn't know any better. Too give you a glimpse of how bad it was, I'd groove to the Men In Black soundtrack. And then one day, I saved this random woman from a burning house, and in return, she saved me with Led Zeppelin, the Complete Studio Recordings.

(In reality, she was woman I had known all my life, no burning house required. And she gave it to me as a birthday present, adding in the comment: "You have no taste in music.")

    Sadly, IT's not BOWIE.

Stardust is just another one of those unheralded films of pure win. Trust me, after you've seen it, you'll be pissed off and angry that no one has ever told you about it before I did. Or it'll inspire you to go looking for some lush green fields to run through. Either or.
