Michael, have you EVER ran a community project?

Try it then come back and talk to me about this.
It's not a case if "if it doesn't fly, then it doesn't fly". It's a case of "under different circumstances, this would not just fly, it would SOAR"
It can't fly THis time because it's had too many rocks flung at it from an early stage.

When a person proposes an idea or a project, it runs off their energy until they're able to transfer that energy on to others. It is the person's responsibility to make sure to give their idea its best shot at thriving.

If I want the Newsletter to be successful, I can't use that mis-start, since it would cause more damage than good.

Okay, I skimmed the Republican thread, and found all the reasons people want to vote for McCain. Just to note, like you, I don't live in America, so this is from a fairly neutral perspective.

enough damage was dealt during that time for me to know it won't fly too well.
It might sound stupid, but it's the start that makes or breaks it. I've been learning about running projects for years- and through observation and practice.

People dynamics is essential to understand properly in order to utilise correctly. Otherwise it backfires.

I don't have the confidence or the energy to try and reverse it now.

There would be no product in the first place if you cannot power the engine to start it up and get others as excited to a project as you are. The start is all-too important. It's cRUCial, and it's what determines if a project flies or dies. Currently, the start is not at all good and doesn't inspire much enthusiasm when and if it's shot down from the beginning.
    It won't fly.
I'd need to invest a lOT in to reverse that right now, and I've lose both my place AND energy to do that.

    I'll retry at another time.

    I've lost my place.

    and timing..
let me quote myself from Crab's wall
    Quote:
But right now, I am very low on energy to power up a huge project like this one to take-off position. And the way it started, would have taken from me more than double what I'd have to put in usually. Currency I don't have much of right now
I don't have excess energy to fight again. Not at this particular moment in time.
I would have perhaps been able to sail it had I chosen the right time to, and surfed easily, through being helped along by people. But not so now.

    I'll retry at another time.

It isn't my place to go about starting such things again. And it isn't suitable timing for it.

Michael, please don;t kill the project before it's up :/

All those comments are extremely detrimental when trying to get a project off the ground. kickstarting a community project is a very endothermic process to start off with. It requires a LOT of enthusiasm to be able to infect others with it and get them onboard.
And now, the first page of the idea thread is bogged down with doom-predictions and it completely ruins and cancels out any enthusiasm in there :/

Naturally, when you say that, everyone is going to start doubting the possibility of it's success and GET into the frame of mind of "yeah ... no one will be motivated. Ah well". And naturally, I'll have to then step up to co-lead it. You make it more difficult and require much more of my energy to cancel out the negativity ._.

EDIT - I just saw your last post in the thread - keep it like that! ^______^
Constructive is the way to go!

    EDIT2 - never mind. I scrapped it.
