A lot of the people in the thread have merely come up with a list of the popular people on the board and accounted things they've done which doesn't involve them at all, either that or or they've simply just provided a name.
I find it completely unfair to those who are forgotten or are merely just an afterthought.
This is why I don't like to participate in these sorts of threads, if I appreciate someone I let them know personally, they don't need to scramble to see if they have made it onto a list.
