Halloween isn't a real (meaning government or religeous holiday) here in the U.S. It's just like you said, it's for fun.
Speaking of Valentine's Day, do you know what they do in Japan? Girls make chocolate and present it to the guy she likes. If he likes her back, he'll accept the chocolates and eat every piece in front of her. I sorta wish the rest of the world could adopt that. It will be a bit of a role reversal, but I'm ok with that; I love choclate.
But my favorite holiday has to be New Year's Eve. Why? Because it doesn't matter where you're from, what religeon you believe in, etc, it's more like a worldwide holiday.

You're right, most horror/monster/thriller/suspence movies are pretty dumb, but you have to be with the right people and set the mood to watch it. I'd recommend watching "The Ring" for Halloween if you haven't yet. Watch it late at night with all the lights off in the house. Turn off/Unplug any distractions (like the telephone/cellphone), and start watching the movie.

    Enjoy the film 0_O

No need to excuse, you didn't sound ignorant. Actually Halloween is becoming not so unpopular here, but more for the little kids. And we also adopted Valentine's Day for example. But both aren't official holidays, we only have the Christian Holidays like Christmas, Easter and so on. Yeah, and some Holidays related to the recent German History like the Reunification Day. But overall stuff like Halloween looks like more fun.

My favorite horror movie? Well, that's hard to say, most horror movies are really dumb. I don't like the typical masked bad guy slowly chasing idiot teenagers with a sharp weapon set up. I liked the first SAW movie, however, only the first one, which was a little more intelligent and not just some random violant torture trap after another like the sequels. And I liked the Blair Witch Project (the first one), I thought that movie did deliver some smart, real horror feeling to it without the use of any splatter or bad guy or whatever.

Sorry for sounding ignorant there. I knew that not every country celebrated it, I just didn't know which ones. Halloween is really great for kids who want free candy (yeah German Chocolate) and adults who don't mind dressing up for a party (it gives some people excuses to dress up more sexy than usual)

What is your favorite scary movie?

We don't really celebrate that here in Germany. But the watch a scary movie with friends option is definitely inside the range of possibilities.

Congrats on your BoS! That's worth at least 200 Achievement Points. Nah I'm just kidding, you really did a lot of work and deserve the break.

In the meantime, do you have any plans for Halloween? Dressing up? Go out partying? Handing out candy? Watch a scary movie with friends? This is one of the few celebrated holidays that doesn't involve romance or gift giving, so take advantage of it and party hard.

1600*1200. Got it. Thanks for the advice again TT. I've just thought about going back into blogging once all the cosmetic duties are done to the site.

No, you can't stretch a picture with the current version of CSS without any problems. It's not supported yet. My best advise would be stretching the picture itself by using photoshop. Or using a larger image. For example the background image on my homepage is 1600*1200 pixels large, which is large enough for most of the people out there.

    TT
