Not all dreams have real world meanings. Some are in fact just fantasies or figments of our imagination. But I do believe that our subconscious picks up on certain things throughout the day and interprets it into a dream when we sleep. I've even made a few threads about this very same thing a few years ago. It was time consuming, but maybe I should try and bring that back again...

When it comes to artistic tallent I think I got the singing and writing portion, while my older sister got the lion's share of dancing and acting. My other sister got diddly squat in the artistic tallent portion.

The Florida panthers used to range through all of what was the original Florida colony, and West Florida. (That's Florida, about half of Georgia, most of Mississippi, and some of Louisiana.) Now they just exist in the Everglades, and zoos.

I take it you try to put real world meaning to your dreams? I usually just think of mine as interesting (if somewhat convoluded) narratives.

Being able to draw a bit is a nice plus when suddenly struck with inspiration.

Florida you say? Maybe panthers used to perdominentally live in that area (hence the Siminolians named the lake after it) or when the spaniards landed there they named it after the Siminolian language for panther. Long story short, there must have been some sort of misinterpretation of the word throughout the ages.

The only thing I could possibly come up with is that the fish are in danger, and if they don't jump into a pond soon their lives (or at least one of them) would end. Living a life unballance with a yin or a yang can't be good. If the tiger endangers them, then that's what I'm worried about.

And I'm not seriously thinking about getting this as a tattoo (or anything as a tattoo at this moment). It was really just a cool art concept design (if I knew how to paint, I would have done it by now).

I don't think the Seminole language (whatever it is actually called) was around quite that long. I could be wrong, though. And yeah, it is more likely that it refers to the Florida panthers. But I don't know for sure.

Tohopekaliga is a lake, by the way. And that, along with the fact that it's an awesome sounding (and looking) word, is why I picked it.

I'm not a fan of tattoos, personally. (Body art is cool; tattoos are too permanent for me.) That said, it is an interesting visual concept. As for deeper meanings...I'm not too good at interpreting symbols, although in a pinch I'm sure I could randomly come up with something kinda convincing.

Maybe, and this is a stretch here, the name was used for a sabretooth tiger. They were around here a few thousand years ago, right? And of course the native americans were here as well (they are the descendants of the cavemen hunters that tracked them and wolly mammoths through their the ice age). Or maybe their word for tiger just means "big cat", and we have pumas in the states...

Speaking of tigers, I've had this idea for a tattoo for quite awhile now. In the zodiac I'm Pieces, and in the Chinese zodiac, I'm a tiger. So I was thinking of showing the front of a tiger closely leaning forward (almost looks like he's getting ready to pounce) drinking out of a large puddle of water as his green eyes are intently looking forward. And there are two rather large coy fish (one black, the other white) swimming around the pool in yin-yang formation.

I got this vision in a dream and haven't been able to translate my own dream (which has been a first for me in quite awhile). I believe it has something to do with the fish (my yin and yang and how I ballance my life) and how they've grown too large for the puddle, and now there's a tiger that's drinking the last of their water and could very easily eat them. What does the tiger represent?

So what do you think of the tattoo idea/dream?

    I have no plans.

I changed my name because I felt that "Scott" is a boring username. Its meaning is unclear... Wikipedia claims it is "Sleeping Tiger," but that isn't sensible to me, because it's from the local indians, who most certainly would not need a word for "tiger."

Random dictionary websites can say the word for you, but it's Toe-Hoe Peh Lie-Gah.

Also fantastic! Do you have any plans for Halloween?

I've been meaning to ask for quite some time, Scott, why did you change your name? What does it mean? And how do you properly pronounce it?
