I'll take a look at that thread a little later, and as for the Fergus confusion, sorry for that I sometimes get a few people mixed up (for example, I sometimes get Princess_Zelda_ and Alonely confused simply because they both use blue lettering). As for you and Fergus, I get you two confused because of your joint contribution on that ZU webcomic idea I had awhile ago. That's it

Yeah well that's the otherside of the story I guess, fear of the unknown and female oppression was a bad mix.

And yes that's basicly what I said to the guy, but I don't think he's going to listen because he enjoys coming up with his own zelda games. I mean I don't think he'll split them, a lot of fans enjoy doing that. Maybe an "Official Zelda story and gameplay ideas thread" would do, I dunno.

Btw I heard from Fergus you confused me with him, what was that all about? :p

I'm not 100% sure about that origin about witches. From what I've heard, witches were actually renoun wican women whom live off the land of the woods while learning how herbs and roots could supliment the body with nutriets to cure a few minor ailments (aka: witch craft). Basically they were herbalists/doctors of the past. However since this was taken place during the dark ages (where everything in the bible was taken in as law, punishment, and truth, it was a depressing time) anything that the regular people didn't understand, they'd call it as a work of the devil (because if it isn't Holy or easy to comprehend, it must be evil). And back then bishops, priests, and anyone who worked underneith the Pope were held at such a high regard that their word was enough; their word was law because not everybody knew how to read, especially read in latin which was what most Bibles were written in back then (every priest knew how to read/write/speak in latin in order to have common communication between any two priests no matter what country they came from)

And of course things related to witchcraft if women knew how to do things (such as read, question the bible, or even have her own opinion). Men were also accused of being wizards, but not nearly as often as women.

As for Future Zelda, the gameplay ideas should remain there but the fan-fiction should be moved to the writing fan-fiction section. Simple as that.

Yeah I've read all about it, it's one of those things that scares me about religion. Not religion itself but as an organisation. I've read some theory (might've been a part of the da vinci code )that it's related to Mary Magdalene and the jealousy of the other apostels. Apparently the medieval church, led by males, didn't like the idea of a woman being the most important member of the apostels and gave her a negative image. Now I can't really remember how this started the witchhunts but it's scary how people have (and still are) blindy followed orders from religious leaders without questioning their intentions. Besides that, oppression of women is just damn aweful. What the hell were they thinking.

By the way, on a whole different note: Some members are posting their own game ideas and fanfiction in the future zelda forum because there's no better place to do that. wouldn't it be better if they had their own subforum where fans can post their own story and gameplay ideas so that it doesn't get mixed with real discussion of future zelda games?

(This idea came to me after seeing this thread http://www.zeldauniverse.net/forums/...ed-memory.html )

Well witch trials were held throughout colonial U.S. and parts of the old world as well (where do you think the ideas originated?), but Salem, MA has always been the predominately known place for these horrendous historical acts. Do you know some of the "tests" people would go through? They would make women try to swim across a raging river. If she survives, she's a witch, and if she drowns, she was innocent. Can you say "Catch 22"?

And what does it take to be accused of being a witch? Simple, a jelous neighbor that wants your land, wife, daughter, and/or posessions and they'd find it easier to just elliminate you from the picture altogether. Oh, and when they decded it to be a courtesy to burn someone at the stake because the transition of the bonfire flames to the flames of hell will be a comfortable one as your soul passes through.

What a bunch of puritan idiots! And yet, we still celebrate Halloween for the innocent masacres of men & women while Thanksgiving is a constant reminder to all Native Americans what they have lost in the long run.

That's true, I found that I just needed to get outta the house and study somewhere else, that actually helped me. Too much attention grabbers around here if you get what I mean.

Going to a party full of strangers isn't much fun :\ Glad to hear you still had a good time though, and you date went as cleopatra.. niiiiice!

Wasn't Salem famous for it's witches?

Let me tell you, if you can't focus, procrastination never works. Now if you needed to get inspired, well that's different, but that's not the case here. I'm glad to hear you scrapped celebrating for Halloween to study (barely being productive is better than not being productive at all).

As for the party, it was rather dull to be honest. Well it was only dull in comparison to last year where I spent the night at Salem, MA (which is FULL of people in costumes). The party was full of people that I didn't know, but most of them were pretty cool. I went dressed as a fireman while my date dressed up as Cleopatra. I'd say it was more fun because she was there.

¿What's got you so stressed amigo?

As for me, I'm pretty good. It will feel great to party tommorow night. Do you have any plans for Halloween? Dressing up for a party? Hosting a horror movie night with your friends? Hand out candy to trick-or-treaters?
