Well, we try to follow the spirit of the law, rather than simply the letter of it. The very point of the rules is to make the forums a fun and entertaining place for everyone. When a troll comes and starts flaming others, obviously we have to stop it because it ruins the enjoyment of the members, but when an upstanding member of the forums gets drunk for
St Patricks day and starts to have some fun with some others in a thread it doesn't mean we have to be the Fun Police and lock it immediately. We'll lock it when it stops being funny and starts being just spam (
stupid
pointless
annoying
messages.)
It's a WWJD in a way - Jesus was always running around breaking the letter of the law to uphold the spirit of it, managing to always annoy the Fun Police of the time, the Pharisees. :3
