    Yeah, what I really like is that if I were a vegetarian, I'd be forced to pay attention to what I eat. Because I must admit, I sometimes don't even care, and then my tummy aches after eating a lots of unhealthy things. ;_;

*dives* Hi! It's really nice at your place. =333

"Fapulous"? >__< I liked your previous name "Bawsten" a whole lot better>.< Assuming that you know what "Fap" means, do you really want a name connected to that word?

Oh goodness, now that I know about your back injury, I don't care about waiting for a response. Heal up, Boston (yeah, there's no way I'm calling you "Fapulous". I'm either going to call you Boston, Maine, or your real name if you ever feel like giving it). I can't have America's next best dancer be preoccupied on little things like VMs when there's a back that needs rest (I'm going to guess ballet, right? If I'm right, have you seen the movie "Black Swan"?).

As for jobs, working in sales or in the restaurant business can be pretty good for someone that's up and coming into starting their resume.

When it comes to making connections, do you know if the director/instructor/dance teacher/etc... went to a dancing university? Maybe you can get a recommendation letter from him/her? The only Dancing Universities I know of from the top of my head are in California, New York, Chicago, and in Europe (primarily in Paris).

As a kid, I wasn't really keen on vegetables, but for some reason as I grew up, I grew fonder. x3
And really, I'm almost vegetarian, but a few meats I love to death keep me back.

Fellow mermaids? *.* I really need to buy diving stuff.

Well you're 16 and still young. That's a good thing. That tells me that you still have time and ample opportunities to get out and explore the world.

You know what is one of the best ways people around your age do to get out of their small town? Apply to a college out of state. No joke. Not only are you getting a higher education, you're also getting an experience of the independent life (and once you taste that, you'll appreciate it even more than you do right now that you'll do ANYTHING to not live in your parent's house again), and you're not in that one horse town you're living in! You get to meet new people from other places. It's a life experience everybody should share.

So since you're young and in high school, the best thing I can advise you right now is this:
    1. Study REALLY hard. I mean seriously study to get those As. Don't half-ass it by studying the bare minimum.
    2. Talk to your high school's college counselor and talk about what out of state colleges might be open for you. If you don't have a college counselor, then talk to your Advisor/Home Room teacher. Or sometimes better yet, talk to a teacher you have a good relationship with. A teacher's recommendation letter can open a few doors after you leave college.
    3. Take the initiative and talk about colleges with your parents now (don't wait until you're 18 in your senior year, do it now so it won't seem like a huge curve ball when you say you want to apply to an out of state university). This will tell them that you are actually getting serious about your education and your future.
    4. Get a job. Not only to help out your parents to pay for your education, but just remember, all the work is for you to get out of Maine.

And once you have good grades, get accepted to an out of state university, and graduate high school, then the hard work really begins.

Now you must prove to your parents and high school teachers that they didn't make the wrong choice in letting you go to an out of state college/university (which is usually going to cost you extra compared to going to an in-state Uni). Yes college life can be fun, but you also have to be focused. You might have to find a part-time job on campus to help you pay for minor expenses (like books, food, some tuition for next semester, and a little bit of spending money). PLEASE do not turn into that cliched college girl who parties all the time and never studies. If your grades drop, then you will be dropped out of the University (and then your parents will never forgive you for spending thousands of dollars on you for doing that).

This is the time to really start acting mature. If you want to get out of your small town, THIS is the time to start. Think about college right now. And once you've experienced the college/independent life, like I said, you won't want to go back to your parents house (other than for the summer). Keep studying, get part-time jobs, get connections (through friends), get internships, and once you've saved up enough money and have an impressive resume, you'll land your first big "adult job" at some company and you'll REALLY start your independent life in your very own apartment (maybe with some roommates if you want/need).

Sorry if I talked too much there, I just felt like I'm giving a younger version of myself the exact same advice because I've been in the same situation you're in. It's not fun living in a small town, I know. It can be boring, everybody knows you (and sometimes your business:/), and there's no real feeling of escape.

Now. If you honestly don't think college is in your future, then I'm afraid you'll have a harder time of having an independent life outside of Maine. The only options I can think for you to do is to:
    1. Hope that your parents move out of Maine (for whatever reason)
    2. Live with family that are in Boston and continue to work.
    3. Work, work, work (saving up money could take years), until you have enough to find a small apartment in the Greater Boston area and work, work, work some more.

Either way (through college or not), you will work. However you'll have more opportunities and choices through what you can work in (and gain more money) if you go to college first.

College, you'll meet new people, gain a world of experiences, and many doors will open for you. I hope you've already considered going to college.

I feel your pain. I used to live in this small town (in the middle of nowhere) in New Hampshire for the majority of my life, so when I eventually moved to Boston, it was a great feeling. It can happen to you too! If it's a dream of yours to live in Boston, then save up your money (and try to get a job). It took me years to get out of that little town, and I'm not going back!

16 year olds are adorable. And kind of deluded. If I was a girl I'd probably abstain from relationships altogether until I was, say, eighteen.

    WATERMELON IS THE BEST
Eat some, it's healthy. Especially for me, because I drink waaaay less than I'm supposed to. And watermelon is basically water and sugar and something red. xD

Wow, that's cool. =D I imagine you with green fish tail, because I'm so creative and all the mermaids usually happen to have green fish tail.
