I mean, take Jesus, the figure head of christianity.
He's portrayed as an actual "Holier than thou" figure, but from the various religions and biblical texts I've read, been told of and heard about, Jesus was just a nice guy who liked women and wine as much as the next guy, rather than a man who obstinated from sex, etc.

Being an Atheist myself, I don't believe in a Hell where some fallen angel resides, and all the damned go there.

God was portrayed (In the earlier, less-editted versions of the bible) as an unforgiven, ruthless, violent figure that harshly punished those who strayed from his path. Thunderbolts to strike the wicked? Flood to get rid of the non-believers? Getting people to kill other people? Hmm

Infact, in the modern bible, God is an all-forgiving figure. It's quite right to believe that there is no hell, as "EVERYONE" can be salvaged from damnation. Humm. |
