How long is the beginning where the kid is in his room? My dial up works fair with it, but it just seems . . . slow. I didn't have the concentration to get past the first part.

I haven't been up to date with this homestuck and pony nonsense, and a couple days ago I decided to watch/play Homestuck, and all that happened was that armless kid ♥♥♥♥ing around in his bedroom. I feel embarrassed to say this. What's supposed to go on in the beginning?

That is the Wayward Vagabond. He's a nomadic exile wandering through the desert of the charred Earth. Every character that you've met so far will be extremely important.

Homestuck has a pretty big cast, and every person who's been mentioned will reappear somehow. Literally every individual, fictional or otherwise.

Well, Homestuck is an extremely dynamic work. There will be times when you think, "Whoa, did this thing really start with a kid messing around in his room?", and other times when you think, "hardly anything has changed since Act 1!".
