Erm, did I meet my deadline? ...not exactly, hahaha. Well, I was working on it, but honestly it's getting a little out of control. I mean, I'm about 2/3rds, maybe 4/5ths of the way done with it, but it's already at around 53 pages, which is ridiculous. Anyway, I've been sick for the last couple days and decided to sit on it til my head clears up and I can think about how I want to deal with it; either ignore the titanic length or cut stuff out and potentially upset my readers...

Meh, I'm still gonna read it. It's a good story, after all. But next time you feel bad about disappointing your readers because of tardiness when it comes to updates, just think about me... who originally posted his first chapter in like 06 and still hasn't posted the epilogue...

hahaha, I know. The Silent Realm in Lanayru gave me the most trouble... they remind me of the horrible Temple of the Ocean King in PH, which still gives me nightmares...

I'm sorry I haven't gotten back to your story yet; I only have the epilogue left on mine and I'm determined to finish it and have it submitted by Christmas, so I haven't really been reading any other stories... which sucks, cause two of the greatest Zelda fandom writers have lifted their hiatus and started writing on Fanfiction again. Oh, the troubles of me. hahaha

Yes, pretty much. Many of the Ancients have either died off (typically through war or combat or some other manner, as they are immortal but not invincible) or have become dormant, leaving only the actual force of their powers as remnants of their existence. Some have also been locked away, which is actually part of the main storyline. There's a long and complicated history behind it that I've developed over the years. I've had this in my head for a long time, haha.

Yes, I can understand that completely. As for the BA, yes I'm quite involved there. I write a lot there, and I'm on the Council; we basically run the joint, Approving the characters there and things like that. (If you're interested, feel free to take a loook at ome of my characters here. My normal username is Stryder Aedernis, by the way.) Even so, I think you should join! There are very few people (except those with no life, like me) who are active all the time in the BA, and everyone is forgiving of those who have time constraints. I've had RPs that last for months and months, so time isn't usually an issue.

Exactly; the Word is the beginning, the Word is creation. All things were born from the Word; the opposite to the Word is the Void, which is basically what it sounds like - an absence of life, or anything for that matter. The Void is technically a force (like the Word) rather than a sentient entity, though it is malevolent. One of the main characters I use (called the Destroyer, interestingly enough) is an Ancient, one of the first beings to be spawned of the Word's embrace. Though technically, he is the Second Destroyer, but that's a long story. (The quick and short version of this history is that the Ancients were the first beings to be created, and as such were some of the most powerful, fresh from creation. Each came to be loosely termed by a power or embodiment of a force. Some examples; Time, the Destroyer, the Deceiver, the Devourer, the Omen, Death, etc. They are not a race as such, because each differs from the last.)


Those stories sound very interesting. (Particularly the part about the Faeries, who exist in my mythology but not as the common happy-go-lucky pixies known today.) I like the application of science and magic; I can sort of relate to it, in that all of my magic systems have to make sense to me, and that most of them are in fact sourced of energy rather than just 'magic'. You should send me something to read once in a while. Also, have you considered joining the BA? It's technically role-playing, but I dislike that term and prefer to think of it as collaborative writing.

Well mostly I write fantasy fiction that revolves around the uses of magic and supernatural/paranormal powers. It tends to involves Demons, Angels, various mythological beings, deities, etc, but I give them a personal spin so they're not true to their original sources. For instance, Angels and Demons - I make them more physical than their mythological origins. There's also no Creator deity, but instead there is the Word.

I think it's fair to say that much of my writing has been influenced by Terry Brooks Word and the Void series, in which Demons are real but are more akin to monsters than the whispering, tempting ethereal entities that the Bible portrays. But they all follow the same rough arc, anyway.
