Oh, I just remembered that I go back to school on Tuesday. The holiday was just too short (even though it was 6 weeks long ).
Band practice sounds fun though.

That's cool!!! Haha! I could go on forever saying "thank you", you know, but we'd just get caught in one of those never-ending, annoying cycles! So I'll just leave it there.

Hey again! Sorry for such a late reply.
I dunno how much help I will be, but here are a few things that I do/think about when I draw:
1. Before I begin drawing, I spend forever looking at or thinking about what I'm going to draw. I look for things such as shadows, highlights, shapes, textures and even bone structures (if there are any). If I can touch the object that I'm drawing, I am able to understand what it feels like and then try to recreate this in my art.
2. I always hold my pencil lightly and as far away from the tip as possible - I think it gives me more control.
3. I try to convert everything that I see into basic shapes in order to help me get a sketch that I'm happy with. Like this:

4. This one sounds strange, but I often find myself wearing the same expression as what I am drawing. I really try to "connect" with what I am drawing, so if I imagine a particular animal's fur to be very coarse and messy, I'll use my pencil in a way that reflects this. I'll be quite aggressive with it, applying a lot of pressure and using it in such a fast way that I don't "plan" where each strand of hair will fall.
5. Try not to be afraid of using a lot of pressure on the pencil. Very dark areas will contrast with the light and untouched areas of your work, which will help to give it a lot of depth.
6. I could go on forever, but I'll make this the last one. Find something that really inspires you - I tend to listen to a lot of my favorite music whilst I draw, and I also look the work of other artists that I aspire to be like. Also, don't feel down if something doesn't go right the first time. Just walk away from it and view it with a fresh mind later. This should help you to see what isn't going right in your drawing so you can correct it (as does looking at it through a mirror).

Just watched a few gameplay vids of it. The combat does look fun, but I don't know if I could get past the awkward way the characters look when they're moving

Besides, I shan't be buying any more console games until the Wii U is out anyhow. Have fun tho!
