I think Ryan Gosling is a pretty average actor.

And I thought your avatar was just because you were a fan of him or something. But I recently watched Drive and was blown away. Such a great movie on so many fronts, and now that I recognise your avatar from that film, I just wanted to say:

    Cool avatar bro.

Heheh. Though I've been playing the game on what's apparently Trilogy's version of GC's "normal difficulty", which'd probably explain why I got through the boss first try

Yeah, Sanctuary Fortress. Man that place is beautiful.

    ---

And nah, I don't actually plan to play Dark Souls anytime in the near future, simply because a PS3 would be expensive and I'm only interested in a few games on the system (regarding backwards compatibility, I'm just putting my faith - perhaps too much - in hackers, lol). But I will get it, if only because the PS3 will have a massive backlog of games by that time.

And wow, your description of it. Now I'm looking forward to that time when I have about NZ$1000 to kill and I can buy a PS3 and an HDTV, lol.

In the meanwhile, I need to find some gaming experiences closer to home that I can currently play. Another game I've been recommended in the past by the folks here and folks over at Malstrom's forum is Tales of Symphonia. Have you played it?

Urgh... Spiderball Guardian... how bothersome. How far away am I from this "uberdifficult boss" that I've heard you talk about quite a bit?

Anyway, I need you to educate me. I was feeling bored one day so I decided to watch this dude's LP of Dark Souls. Then I read up some more about it. I did a mini-evaluation in my head and decided I was interested.

Given that my only routes to the game are by getting a PS3 or learning how to build a new PC and then buying the parts and then doing it and then jumping through all the PC-gaming-related-hoops, my wallet is naturally apprehensive.

Of course, I don't plan to do either for a LOOOOOOOOONG time. But when I do, I want to take the route that will give me the most bang for my buck in the long run. Do I go for the PS3 (especially if I'm able to trick it into playing PS2 games)? The PC? Or is there some third option I'm unaware of?

Haha! All I want is to be a badasss. Here's hoping there's more opportunities for badassery in Echoes' bosses after this point

[12:06:07 PM] Ecce Albertus: while dodging his attacks
[12:06:14 PM] Ecce Albertus: and THEN i figured out how to beat him XD
It might just be the adrenalin talking, but any boss battle that does this^ to me gets an insta-pass in my book.

Have you tried clicking "keep me logged in" whenever you log in? Also, don't browsers have an option to "remember your password for this site"?

Perhaps you could raise this in FSQ if it's a serious problem.

Ouch. As someone well-versed in the ways of the wall-of-text, I know exactly how that feels.

Lack of energy is definitely a chronic problem for me, but it's really been that way since I was a child. I think it's just a genetic trait, though it's been worse the last few years. My regular sleep schedule now is from 3 am to 10 am, which I'm not sure is enough. However, during the summer when I slept 11 hours a day I felt the same way. Perhaps I need to start experimenting with my sleep schedule; maybe 8 or 9 hours would be better for me.

And yes, procrastination sucks, but I don't know how to self motivate. Since high school I've pretty much always done my assignments at the last moment, got good grades, and got too cocky as far as studying habits go. Seeing the grades on a few of my last quizzes, I know I can't keep this up. I'll consider your advice about doing work in small portions; I actually haven't done that since the start of school.

I'm glad for you that you got far out of your comfort zone, something I really need to work on. It really sounds like you turned your college experience around for the better by your recent decisions. I actually think I've made improvements in my social life, but I'm not fully socially comfortable yet. I have too much self consciousness and pride and can't accept being seen as weird, foolish, or unlikable to others, so I tend to keep my mouth shut. It's good to hear that socializing with strangers will get easier the more you do it. I've been a bit hesitant on it because how busy I am, but I'll start looking for non-academic clubs and tell you how it goes.

The reason I brought up women is because I was (am) lovestruck. I'm pretty sure every guy knows that feeling, though it's really hard to relate to when you don't feel it yourself. Basically I met the "perfect girl" (pretty, funny, smart, you know the drill), studied bio together and kinda flirted for 2 hours, and left without getting her number. All I can say is, ♥♥♥♥ me. But even if I did get her number, I'm too inexperienced in the game of romance to know what to do with it (invite her to have coffee? I don't even like that stuff). That's why I feel that its imperative to get in the game soon. Basically, I'm scared of two things when approaching women: rejection, and not knowing what to say and looking like an idiot.

And no, I don't exercise, but I've been thinking about it even before college started. Basically, I don't have the energy or determination to even go to the gym, while not hitting the gym just makes me even more lethargic. It's definitely a vicious cycle. Now that you remind me, I say screw my laziness, I'm going to the gym tomorrow no matter what. It could actually be the panacea to all my problems at once.

Thank you for all your advice, Common Knowledge. Consider yourself a guru.

Hey. College so far is a bit of a mixed experience. I'm half way to the freshman 15, constantly late to classes, and generally feeling non-energetic. My procrastination and disorganization is hurting me more than ever, and I've already missed the due date to a Chem quiz. However, I've made many friends, found a few extracurricular activities, and found myself enjoying the feeling of independence more often than not. My question to you is, where's a good place to socialize and meet women? I have to admit that I've never had a girlfriend or a date for that matter, and I realize that I have to do something about that quick before I'm forever alone. Yeah, it sounds silly, but this is a legitimate worry for me.

It's GTA-esque, yeah. You can pretty much drive around and explore the city. Do little minigames and sidequests. It's a lot more serious than Saints Row though x3

You're a cop who's gone under deep cover to infiltrate a triad group, while that group has basically a civil war on the inside.

The combat system is like Arkham Asylum/Arkham City. I haven't picked up a gun to know what the aiming is like yet.
