Well while I kept on switching my party araound I focused on training them, so by the time I had locked in my party to the 70's, reshiram was still level 57. Plus, I didn't need it since only four pokemon in my party have all of the types covered except for dragon type, to which I can just send out Salamence.
Yeah, excadrill could be a worthy opponent against Tyranitar IMO.

Leaf blade is one of the best grass type moves though. :/

I don't need strength, but it's handy if I want to get out of caves easily. Also I never need cut anymore, but it's a good weak move to have so you can almost never kill a pokemon you want to catch. and actually, that's not true. My serperior has a neutral nature and its stats are:

Attack-175
Defense-150
Sp. Atk-131
Sp. Def-167
Speed-202

so really, your serperior just sucks. jk
I have HM slaves, but as mentioned above they both have valid purposes for me.
Gigalith looked cool, but itwasn't very good after a while compared to excadrill which can learn rock slide.

yet somehow you keep leech seed xD leaf blade is probably the best grass type move you can learn, especially since attack is serperior's best stat.
