I'm not especially glad to be meeting you like this, so let me apologize in advanced. However, this remark was really unnecessary and ignorant. I decided to take this to VM so as to avoid the "political debate" which you referred to.

WHich brings us back to the problem that as liberals(this is not to start a political debate I simply don't know how else to refer to the group of people I'm referencing) have become more prevelent society has loosened its morals to the point where nobody will care about such things.

I think what should have been said here was that society, as a whole, has been putting less emphasis on certain traditional morals. I know plenty of people of poor moral character who I would never in my wildest dreams see as being liberal or progressive. Several of my acquaintances are conservatives, not for religious reasons, but for governmental reasons, (which is what politics is
really supposed to be about) and although they may be conservative, they have pretty awful moral character. So stop blaming liberals, because morals aren't what politics is about. Politics are about government and governmental policy.
I'm not so much personally offended as I am worried that you'll continue to make this mistake. Thanks for your time and it was nice meeting you.
