Considering A Dance with Dragons came out last year, I'm giving #6 two more years (three max) for it to be published. If it takes any longer, then they will have to halt the show.

GRRM is planning on making two more installments. The sixth book is going to be called "The Winds of Winter" (that's what he's working on right now), and the 7th is "A Dream of Spring". GRRM isn't like those other authors whom pop out a book every year. His work takes time, and I'm not surprised considering the intricate relationships he has with not only the main characters but also the minor ones.

By the time I finished A Dance with Dragons I was thinking "Why are they having a TV show about this now? It's too soon, he won't have much time". Even if each book took two seasons to cover, that only buys GRRM 6 years. He'd hopefully be done with the 6th book by then (out and published *crosses fingers*), so he won't have a lot of time to finish the 7th.

Personally I'm not interested in reading his other series (at least not yet). However he has written three novels that take place about 90 years before the events of ASoI&F started called "Tales of Dunk and Egg". There's "The Hedge Knight", "The Sworn Sword", and "The Mystery Knight". I've found the graphic novel version of the first two books, but not the actual printed books. I haven't read that much about the series from wikipedia, but all I know is that "Egg" is in fact King Aegon V Targaryen. Huh...doing a very quick wikipedia search it seems like he is also writing a sequel for the Dunk & Egg series called "The She-Wolves of Winterfell". Now that's just enticing me to read the series even more.

And he's also created a Children's book called "The Ice Dragon", that takes place in the ASoI&F world. Considering we have three dragons the world right now, I'm just curious how the story goes (to see if the Ice Dragon is still alive, and maybe if it's connected to the wights).

I'll probably find these books somewhere online but for now I've started reading the Ender's Game series (I'm on "Ender's Exile" right now...I'm going to read it in chronological order according to the characters. First Ender, and then Bean).
