I'm not stupid. That thread was two years old, most people in two year old threads aren't around anymore, so it just makes more sense to start a new one than to respond to people that won't ever read it.
Even though I admire your work as a moderator you should know that there are exceptions, which justify necroposting.
1. Topics, which were made to collect opinions from other users. If new members come across them, they will of course state their opnium as it is relevant to the topic. Therefore they shouldn't be closed, hence it was relevant.
2. Information to the topic. Even if the member don't know much about the subject itself that much, to ask questions about said topic makes it still relevant, as it revives interrest in the forgotten topic. There might be even more information available now by the old members.
As long as someone, revives a topic wiith a good portion of relevant information, it will be alright. The old topics weren't closed automatically after 3 months of inactivity for a good reason.
