Because yah, the original Ocarina Of Time of the N64 had the image of the crescent. But on the Collector's Edition/Master Quest and OoT on Virtual Console for the Wii, the Mirror Shield was not the crescent, but instead, the Gerudo symbol.

And that's why it bothered me...

Apparently, it had religious reference, and Nintendo didn't want to be a part of that. Now it's understandable.

Like I said in my earlier post:
