I agree. And when it comes to Akatsuki members in the beginning, Hidan and Kisame were my favorites. I'm still a little somewhat pissed that they didn't bring back Hidan. He's still technically alive, but it's like Akatsuki are afraid of Shikamaru's deer:/

I don't know if he would have defected, but the background would have changed. Neji always had the stigma of his father dying for the main branch of the family, and he had to live with that cursed seal mark on his forehead as a constant reminder of that. And we can't forget that the Hidden Cloud wanted to kidnap Hinata, so maybe the main villain of the series would have been them (instead of the Uchihas).

Indeed his presentation was awesome. He was mysterious in the beginning. His six bodies thing...I have two to say about that:
1. Do you think the Sage of Six Paths also had six bodies? That was never mentioned before, but I'm thinking, maybe it's possible.
2. When Pain had the six bodies, it was sorta a weakness considering each body only did one certain type of ninjutsu. So as Kakashi quickly realized, that little chink in the armor was exposed. I wonder why Obito never did this using the 6 jinchuriki he had.

Oh when it comes to fiction, you always need a warped version of the hero (Batman had several). If you don't have that then it's hard to tell who's the good guy and who's the bad. That's why I don't think Sasuke is going to fight Naruto. Neither one of them has killed an innocent person.

Yes Pain successfully nuked Konoha, but don't you recall Deidara's giant bomb that was meant to destroy the Sand Village? Same thing. The biggest difference is Gaara was able to save the town & the citizens, and Tsunade just the citizens (a town can always be rebuilt). But you're right it brought a lot of closure to his life, however there were still a few Akatsuki members still alive during that time. So even if Naruto was made Hokage at that moment, he would have to sit idly by.

You know what fight (even if it was just a sparring match) I would like to have seen? A fight between Shikamaru and Neji. Both of them are considered to be geniuses (one is lazy while the other isn't) but they don't get a whole lot of recognition in the manga. I think I read in an interview that before Kishimoto thought of the concept for Sasuke, he was thinking about having Neji be Naruto's rival.

Orochimaru. Why? Simply because he's the "Freeza" of the Naruto-verse. He's the villain that pushes the hero's limits in the beginning to make him a stronger savior in the end. He's just your typical mad scientist who tries to escape death.

Hmm I wonder if Orochimaru was good, would he be a serious candidate for 5th Hokage? Or even as leader of Root?

Obito claims that he gave the Rin to Nagato, and he reclaimed it. Do you think that he'll try to steal Kakashi's eye as well? And how long do you think Obito use Kumoi(sp?).

Another thought, can you believe that Obito acting like the absent-minded "Tobi"? To what purpose? He could have acted normal and still be threatening.

New challenger for Naruto, not particularly for the war in general...I thought you would have understood.

I don't think that's the end of Obito's backstory (at least what Kishimoto is going to show us...however Naruto saying "I'll hear about it later" might imply that we might not get it next chapter), I was just frustrated we didn't read anything new this chapter (I was expecting something big because it was #600. Usually every 100 chapters something big happens).

As for the story heading for a climax, yes that is true. Kishimoto has said that he's getting tired of drawing Naruto and would like to end the series to focus on new projects. So this war (and all the major battles within it) are the apex of the series' ending (maybe they'll have 1-2 chapters that feature Konoha in peace time). As for Sasuke, we still don't know what that Scroll said, but maybe he's going to see Obito & Madara to discuss with them about the past.

From what we currently know about Obito's past, the only thing that I can think of is the death of Rin (on his last dying breath, he asked Kakashi to protect Rin, and clearly Kakashi couldn't keep that promise). Many fans believe whatever changed Obito's way happened after he survived the cave in (someone must have saved him). My guess that it was the Rock Ninjas, Orochimaru, or Danzo.

-Rock Ninjas because the Rock Kage has had A LOT of connections using the Akatsuki in the past (plus it would always be nice to have a Sharingan user in your ninja village considering they are in the endangered clan list).

-Orochimaru because it would tie in with him rescuing Kabuto when he was young. Of course logically Oro would want his eye, but Oro doesn't want to transplant it, he wants to put his soul in an Uchiha's body. Oro could see it more worthwhile to just have Obito as an underling than try to take over his body.

-Danzo because he has a thing of taking in orphans and putting them in Root. Considering Danzo has history with not only Orochimaru but also Hanzo, I wouldn't be surprised if Danzo is behind Obito's life as well.

I have another theory. Orochimaru tried to clone the 1st Hokage, and thought he failed (but later when Konoha ninjas invaded his laboratory they realized that one of his clones survived the experiment. That clone is Yamato). It's possible that he tried again, and created Zetsu (hence the whole Yamato making all the Zetsu soldiers stronger makes some more sense considering they were created by the same person and of the same gene pool). So it's also possible that Zetsu saved Obito (because from everybody in Akatsuki, it seems like Zetsu is the only person Obito has the closest relationship with).

I don't see Naruto fighting Sasuke anymore. Sasuke was being manipulated for so long, he just wants clear answers. Ever since his chat with Itachi, I don't see him as a creature of hatred anymore. Because right now Obito is just buying time for the 10 tails to form. The way I see it going down, Sasuke will learn that he has to help Naruto save the world, and then it will be Naruto w/ Kurama & Sasuke w/ Susanoo to take down the incomplete 10 tails. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if Sasuke is able to wake up his Rinnigan the same fashion to what Madara has done. After the war, then they will have to end up "dealing with each other", but I think they'll be in peace.

Here's another question: Obito took both of the Rinnigan eyes from Nagato, right (because why leave a treasure behind)? If one eye is in his left eye socket...where's the right Rinnigan eye?

Other lose ends that need to be tied up:
-What do Suigetsu and Jugo plan to do?
-What does Karin plan to do when/if she escapes Konoha?
-What's going to happen with Yamato's body (will anybody rescue him? Hmm is part of the 1st Hokage's soul inside the clone? I'm just thinking of a ridiculous thing of how Sasuke could talk with at least someone from the past to get some answers)?
-Where is Terai (the Root member Danzo said to find Kabuto)?
-What's going to happen with Root? Where are they in this war?

I think that's what chapter 600 will be about: Showing Obito's life after the cave-in.

And yes, many people have seen that subtle clue a little while ago when they were already speculating who he is. Now that we have unmasked Obito, now it's time we unmask Kakashi! Hheehehe. Sure we got a good look at his father, but that's not good enough!

I suspect that the series will end within 50 more chapters. Kishimoto has said that he's getting tired of drawing the manga, so he doesn't want to drag it on for much longer. I mean, what else can happen? Naruto defeats Obito. Kages defeat Madara. Sasuke learns what he needs to know (from wherever he's going with Orochimaru). Naruto & Sasuke fight the 10 tailed beast. And then we get a "happily ever after" chapter featuring Naruto becoming the next Hokage. The end.

You like alternate realities, right? Might I suggest a movie called "Another Earth". It's a movie about there suddenly appearing another Earth in space (and it's very reachable). When we first make contact with the 2nd Earth, we realize that they are humans, but more importantly, humans that have lived an alternate life. Then a woman (the main protagonist) gets a chance to be launched in a space shuttle to visit the 2nd Earth. She wants to meet her other self. That's all I will say about the movie.

Even still, don't you think that he would eventually get caught by the Moon Eye Plan? And that's another thing I sorta found disappointing, Kabuto was able to go into Sage mode, but not Orochimaru? I sincerely hope that Tsunade will be able to go into Slug Sage mode or else she will get creamed this battle.

Anko suppressed the cursed seal mark all these years, but not Sasuke? What made Anko so special? And why haven't we ever seen her go into different cursed seal modes (you know, like how Sasuke had those wings)? That would have made Anko a little more interesting.

Nope, it certainly won't be canon (all fillers and movies aren't canon to the series). Take a look at this promotional image for the movie. Naru/Hina & Sasu/Saku fans rejoice! After reading the wikia, I learned that Sakura's father becomes the 4th Hokage, not Naruto's. Hence that's why Minato is still alive. As for what caused the death of both of Sakura's parents? Maybe it has to do with the birth of Naruto, I don't know.

"The Scroll": I agree, it can't be Itachi. He's said his last line for the series, I think that's enough for him. My money is on the Hokages considering Orochimaru said "What do you want to meet them for" like he's giving off attitude. Like saying "What can they tell you that you don't already know". And wouldn't you say it's arrogant of Orochimaru to think he's going to survive this war (and he has no interest for it? That's a little weird).

Another part of me that hopes it's the Death God is to have some sort of advantage over the Madara fight that's going on. I honestly don't think that the current generation of Kages are strong enough to go up against a Madara in his prime. Back then it was just the Hokage that could go toe-to-toe and win. Now we need 5 Kages to go up against the same man. Let's face it, the Kages have gotten weaker. HOWEVER, I still want the Kages to prevail because this whole war has been about old vs new.

"The Root", yeah they didn't show them much in the past 61 chapters. But do you think that Terai has been watching the whole thing? What will he do?

"Tobi", there are theories online saying that he's Madara's brother (and his death was fake). And I have a personal theory that it is one of the Rock Ninja that caused that cave in to happen (who else would have a quick opportunity to gain one sharingan eye, and the other eye could have come from another Uchiha during the massacre).

Now, are you happy that you've read all of those chapters instead of just waiting for the anime? Reading is better.

597.1It's basically a filler/advertisement chapter where all the characters hang out before the start of the movie. My favorite line has to be "It...it's just they keep...floating up..." lol *nosebleed*

There's a new Naruto movie called "Road to Ninja" and the plot is that all Akatsuki members (this includes Pain, Konan, and even Hidan...but no Orochimaru) are attacking Konoha but Naruto doesn't understand why considering they were all supposed to be dead (so this non-canon movie takes place after the death of Kisame). Tobi uses a new jutsu and Naruto & Sakura are transported to a new world where everyone they know acts differently, a good-natured Sasuke is living in the village, Naruto's parents are still alive, but Sakura's parents aren't. So it seems like this is an alternate universe where possibly the Akatsuki never existed? Or maybe a world where the Uchihas were actually in peace with the Senju. I'll let you know once I watch the movie.

Throughout the whole entire manga we never meet Sakura's parents, but a few weeks ago there was a filler episode called "Road to Sakura" that featured them. And now they are in the movie, so I guess they are sorta characters now. Even if you're not going to watch the movie or the episode, I'll save you the trouble by saying that she looks nothing like her parents.
