Hmm, a refresh button would be nice that way it actually appears as if something happens, rather than random clicking and hoping it works.

Also, what I mean is that Auto fill Values function you mentioned only takes the information stored in the filename and fills the tags with that. If the filename doesn't have all the information (I.E. the filename is only Knights of Cydonia.flac), then there's nothing to automatically fill the tags with. So I still have to use google/wikipedia to find out the albums that songs were on, and it still takes every bit as long.

That didn't work. It still won't update with new songs I've added to that folder. Do I have to refresh my media library somehow?

Also, that auto-fill-values feature you detailed merely retags the file based on the filename. That also doesn't work because my filenames are just the song title.

Wow, the desire to get a new sound card in the first place pretty much pushes you to level 2 in audiophilia.

So, how do I make Folder Monitoring work in foobar? I hear it's a happy dandy thing that makes it superior to iTunes and it sounds like a great idea. And how does foobar's library configuration work anyway? Does it store the data of your library into one big m3u or xml file somewhere? Or does it merely just take your library from a folder(s) somewhere?

Regardless, I exported my iTunes library using that application you linked to, and had it copy my entire library into a new folder. I am unsure as to how I get new songs into my library now, because obviously if I were to obtain a new album, that M3U doesn't update itself, I'd have to import the songs into iTunes, re-export the M3U, and re-import it in foobar. That's a lot of work. Now, instead, I could just add the new songs to that big library folder I had made when I originally exported my library, and then re-add that whole folder, but that also lots of work. Ideally, I could just add the songs directly to the folder and foobar using folder monitoring would detect that I added songs and automatically put them into my library. I've looked all over the entire interface and nowhere have I found a way to make that work. Help?

EDIT: I appreciate the help and the respect. I hope I didn't come off as abrasive or rude in any of my posts in the past. I wasn't ever advocating iTunes or foobar or how one is better or how I am better for using one. I was always saying from the start that iTunes makes my specific scenario easier and was only really justifying my use of it.

    Heeeeey.

Just wanted to say thanks for all the help and the kindness and whatnot.

I have a couple more things to ask you and stuff. I'm kinda wanting to switch to foobar with iTunes' recent ****ups and have a few issues to sort out. You undoubtedly possess great knowledge on the subject being an audiophile, so I would request that you enlighten me.

    Thanks again, man.

    Wiped computer/installed Windows 7.
Downloaded foobar and put in music library.
After I've gone through and fixed all of the information on all of those songs what should I do?
