And that's just fine. We both have our own opinions. I'll tell you something now though, I'm not blinded by fanboyism. If anything, I'm the exact opposite. I'm the sort of person that believes Zelda needs change, else it will soon die.

As for the Retelling, I've been having some problems with it lately. I've had the most terrible writer's block. In an attempt to get past this, I've actually started writing a short story I've had in my head for a while. It shouldn't take long, but hopefully after I complete that, I'll be able to get out of my writing slump, and get back to the OoT Retelling.

Yes, I am back. And no, not college. Rather, having no access to a computer and/or an internet connection for the past few months has kept me away.

In any case, I don't think I fall into either group, really. Probably more of a hater than a supporter, but my ultimate position is: it was kind of fun. I still played it through to 100% completion, but in the end, I felt very cheated. The game was severly lacking in several places, with nothing to make up for it. There was essentially nothing new or innovative. The whole game was a rehash of the previous games in all aspects: plot, gameplay, mechanics, and even some of the characters. I enjoyed playing it, but it left me feeling like I hadn't experienced anything new.

    PART I

Ok, let's go for the reasons why WW sucked (IMO)
    1) KORL... what a horrible partner. He was more annoying than Navi, but for a lot of different reasons. I think one of the most frustrating part of him was he never actually accompanied Link in a dungeon, because he couldn't. Navi, Tatl, and Midna all went with Link and made sure they could hep him out. KORL just gave you a dumb necklace and barked instructions to you while he was all safe and stuff. another frustrating part of him was his true identity. He was the same king who had an alliance with Ganon in the first place. I mean, who wants a partner who's that dumb? He also destroyed the place that as a player, I had saved more than twice! I always go through the trouble of saving Hyrule, and for what? A stupid boat to destroy it!

    PART II
    2) The Zora were missing, and their replacements. You'd think on a map completely covered by water, the Zora would flourish like crazy, but the only Zora you got to see was a ghost. Not only did they get rid of the Zora's, one of the coolest species in the game, but they also replaced them with a really lame race. The rito just looked dumb. I mean, the beak in front of their face, and the wings for arms? Stupid. It would have been cooler if they lost the beaks included talons, and made the wings in the back... but I digress. their looks were bad enough, but they were a post service species that worshiped a giant dragon. Wow. Really? Nintendo could not come up with anything cooler? Man, the rito were just horrible.

    PART III
    3) The dungeons and lack thereof. My favorite game is MM, so I shouldn't be one to complain about very few dungeons, but the difference between MM and WW is that WW had more potential for dungeons. They had that one island that was completely impossible to get onto because of storms, so they just give you the prize, and then there were the triforce pieces that you had to fish out of the ocean (which was horribly lame). They could have done so much more, but chose not too!

    PART IV
4)The world map was way too big. And it was all ocean. It took forever to get from one place to another even with warping! I think one time I set out from a location, went to the bathroom, got a snack and ate it, came back and was still not at my destination. How does that even happen?

    5) I mentioned this in point 1, but the fact that Hyrule was destroyed really bothered me.

I guess I could ramble on about this for a long time, but this is getting to be too much for me to write and I'm kind of tired. Long story short, it was a bad game!

Heheh, I'm actually no real fan of debating, but discussing Zelda games makes me kinda "rediscover" my passion for the series over and over. Healthy discussion is good for a fan who lives in this day and age

Ah yes, the retelling. Well, I currently am not in college. I've decided to take a year off from that. However, work has taken its place, and it does not leave me time for much. Other than music and friends, my own personal enjoyments have been put on hold, including writing, while I am still adjusting to this new lifestyle of mine.

I have been writing small bits intermittently, however, so it is not completely abandoned. I hope to have a new chapter up in the coming week in fact, so look to the Writing Section for its forthcoming... or something like that.
