I'm doing freelance web programming, though I'd like to shed the whole "working for other people" thing at some point in the future. Freelance is nice: I set my own hours and rarely need to leave my apartment to work, but I still take orders from my client.

Brown: Now as I see it in a different color, I think a lighter grey probably would have been for the best. Just a smidgen lighter. I think I like the color more more seeing the updated version.

I like the texture you added to the upper banner. It's really cool.
The colored bar on the left is a bit better than the circles, but it still doesn't... work for me? I think it might be the texture/pattern over it. Maybe try seeing how it looks with a different texture than the bg, or just changing the whole bg+bar's texture. hmm.

I like color, so this may be just me, but grey is eh. I like lots of color! But that's me. Not really feeling the three circles in the background behind the post, but I think the overlapping design could be reimplemented somewhere.

Right under the nav area, you've got the color glows, which you said are click-overs or whatever, but the colors are all over this like, white overlay box and I feel like that area could be improved by keeping the space there clean and soley for the colored glows.

Foooooter. I think that's good, the idea you have. Maybe a line separator and then links to blah and blah and copyright and blah and then some social media icons, or whatever.

But really my main thing is I don't like the gray theme. Undecided if that's actually an issue though.

Edit: Oh, the title banner. I think if you just had your name and then your alias there and just get rid of THE PORTFOLIO OF it'd be a lot cleaner.

I'd love to take a look at it. Can't say I can do much hands-on stuff (I don't think you'd expect me to?), but if you want to bounce thoughts around that'd be cool.

Honestly, I haven't done a lot of GD stuff recently. I thiiink the main things I've used those skills for is with drawings; messing with colors and textures.

I think the easiest way to get back into it is to just surround yourself with influences. Look at custodial, galleries, the world around you to see what you can do to look at it differently. Maybe start taking your own photos to manipulate if you have your own camera.

ALSO, man have you read Game of Thrones?? (I know you have the boxset) The Song of Ice and Fire books have been my main thing this last summer. Starting the fourth book now.

Riiiiiiight, I forgot that there was a flying ship in DD (I only played it once, so it honestly wasn't that memorable). Plus the Lost Age ship with flying wings was a whole lot cooler than the moving sails one:/

You only played the DS game? Dude, that's the worst one of the series (in my opinion). Get a hold of the two GBA games and play them.
