naw man, it's confirmed to be in the 1800's, and the belmonts were not killed off, because Julius Belmont would surface in 1998 and kill Dracula for good.

by the way, Blue, how's that Simon picture coming along?

I'd put my money up for Order of Ecclesia on the DS, which will most likey be the greatist castlevania yet. It coming out in October of this year. It's plot is set the mid 1800's The Belmont clan has went missing, leaveing no one to fight Dracula and his forces. You play as Shanoa, a female warrior for a secret organization trying to fight the Prince of Darkness.

Also check out Super Castlevania 4 for the SNES on the VC, it's actually a remake of Simon's first adventure but it's a really fun game.

Castlevania has a large timeline, one game may be set in the year 1300 and another in 2035 so it may be a little confuseing at first, but that won't stop anyone from enjoying the games.
