I have no idea, but there better be a damned good reason for why I don't have my Nyan Cat.

...How have you lasted this long without knowing the ending of the books? I was like you, I started reading the books "late in the game". But even still, when the 7th book came out, I already knew what would happen in the end, but that didn't change my mind in not reading the books. It's all about the journey of the characters.

Anyways, there's this book series I've read that might interest you. I'll be honest, it reminds me of HP, but with a more adult feel. The series is called the Kingkiller Chronicles. The first book is called "The Name of the Wind" and the second is called "The Wise Man's Fear". It's said there's a third book to come out, but we don't know when it will.

If I were you, I'd go on YouTube and check out a few clips on the games. I mean, I'd hate for you to buy a game that you're not going to like. Don't watch like a whole walkthrough of a vid, just watch enough so you can get a strong opinion. For example (not a spoiler really) here's the very first enemy you'll fight in Sword of Mana:
‪Sword of Mana Boss Battle- Jackal‬‏ - YouTube
Judging by that video alone, did you like what you see? Of course that's just the first enemy/boss, so things will only get better from there (such as collecting new weapons ala Zelda).

Do you ever read the Harry Potter series? If so (and you liked them), then I have a few book series you might get into.

And let's not forget the Oracle games. It came out May 2001, when the GBA came out three months earlier. It's like Zelda games are the executioner of consoles lol.

Since you own a PS2 have you played Tales of Destiny, Tales of Destiny 2, Tales of Rebirth, Tales of Legendia & Tales of the Abyss (which both have similar gameplay as Symphonia).

-There's a sequel to Baten Kaitos
-Prince of Persia is pretty cool for Zelda fans. It has puzzles (most of them deal with traps, memorizing their patterns and how to avoid certain other ones), bosses, a princess, and a wizard enemy. The first game is all about controlling the sands of time so that if you make a mistake, you can rewind and redo.
Golden Sun: If you have difficulty finding the games, I'd gladly sell the ones I have. What's the point in having games if you're not going to let other people share the experience?
Mana series: If you like the 2D Zelda games (especially ALttP and LA) then you'll like them.

As for books, what are you reading right now? I'm currently reading A Song of Ice and Fire series.

Is it just me, or does it seem like Zelda games seem to be the final strike for a console? First it was TP for the GC and now SS for Wii.

Back when TP was announced that it was going to be released for the Wii, I had a GC at the time. I was thinking of selling my GC (and games), save the money (and save more money) to buy a Wii and TP. Sadly, that never happened. I had to spend the money on other things. Part of me thinks "If only I didn't sell my GC, I would have been able to play TP", and another part of me thinks "I would have needed that money anyways...so it seems like I would have never been able to play TP".

The thing that stinks (for you and I) is the fact that GameStop no longer holds GC or GBA games anymore. It's understandable, but still unlucky for us.

Would you mind if I gave you a few video game recommendations (and this coming from a Zelda fan like yourself)?
-Tales of Symphonia (GC). It's an action RPG game. The storyline is VERY long, but it's quite fun nonetheless. The voice acting is superb, and I also enjoy all the cutscenes.
-Baten Kaitos (GC). An RPG game that has a time infused element.
-Prince of Persia trilogy (GC). I've personally only played Sands of Time and The Two Thrones, but I can account that the series as a whole make great games for any Zelda fan.
-Golden Sun series (GBA & DS): This series is quite dear to my heart. It's my favorite RPG series of all time.
-Mana series. This series is A LOT like LoZ. It originally was a spin-off of Final Fantasy, but it grew into it's own series.
-Okami, Ico, Shadow of the Collosus: Three games I haven't played, but have been dying to play myself. I've heard they are VERY Zelda-like.
-ChronoTrigger (DS). This is a very cool game. It's like combining Time Traveling and RPG games together. If you're a fan of the silent protagonist, then you'll like this.

Personally, I don't have a lot of games I want to play. Sure there's Golden Sun Dark Dawn 2, but that's basically it. There's a new game called Radiant Historia that's caught my interest. Those are basically it.

Right now I've been in somewhat of a reading binge. Books are cheaper, take less money to make, can take a longer time to finish, and there are plenty of series.

One thing I have to say about independent film makers, low budget video game developers, and unknown authors: Most of their work go unappreciated. While some games have fans, it's a whole lot harder to come up with an original idea from a creator you know nothing about. Basically what I'm saying is, we mostly see the new games/movies/books, judge which ones are good, and forget the rest. Sure you see Call of Duty being advertised, but how about the makers of Radiant Historia? Have you ever heard of it? Not many people have. It's sad that some art pieces die with their creators.

If I were you, I'd hold off on playing PH and ST considering they are the most expensive games you haven't played. But you have a few options layed out in front of you:
Buy a 3DS: And you'd be able to play LA (download), PH, ST, FS (it will be downloadable soon..online play? I don't know) and any future new Zelda titles.
Buy a DS: And then you'll be able to play PH, ST, and tMC.
Buy a GBA: You'd be able to play tMC & FS (but only if you have friends with GBA, cords, and cartridges)
Buy a GBC: And you'd be able to play LA

So if I were you, this is how I'd do things (because it'll be cheaper):
1. Buy a DS (so you can play tMC, PH, and ST).
2. Once the WiiU has come out, buy a used Wii so you can play SS.
3. Once the price has gone down, buy a 3DS so you can play LA and FS.

If you have no interest purchasing a 3DS, then buy a GBC to play LA. FS is the difficult thing because you have a set amount of options:
1. Buy 2 GBAs, 2 ALttP/FS cartridges, 1 cable cord. Find a friend to play with you.
2. Buy 1 GBA, 1 ALttP/FS cartridge, 1 cable cord. Find a friend who'll play with you AND whom still owns a GBA and a ALttP/FS cartridge
3. Buy a 3DS and wait for the FS to be downloadable.

The problem is that not many people still play with GBAs. That and also the fact that Nintendo had the stupid idea of having the FS game be multiplayer only. If I were Nintendo, I would have ported FS onto the FSA disk.

Yeah I'm excited about SS. I still won't be able to play it though. On the forums, I'll already be spoiled about everything that happens in the game within the first week (that's the same that happened to me for TP). So (sadly) I'll probably just watch somebody's walkthough of SS on Youtube

Gaming is an expensive hobby. Something that I've more or less given up on in the past few months. If Nintendo wants to take more money out of my pocket, they'd have to give me something REALLY amazing on the 3DS or WiiU. And as of right now, the only game that I have my heart set out for are SS and Golden Sun: Dark Dawn 2. Dark Dawn was on the DS, so the sequel will most likely be on the 3DS. Right now, that is the only reason I'd purchase a 3DS, but I'm praying that it'll be on the regular DS (which I doubt).

Oh really? What Zelda games have you been playing lately? Are you sorta hyping yourself up for Skyward Sword? Are there any games you haven't played yet? If I were you, I'd try to buy, play, and complete the games I haven't finished before purchasing Skyward Sword.

As for myself, I'll be honest and say that I haven't been much of a gamer for the past few months. Nothing has interested me lately (all I own is a DS Lite, but still). As for Zelda titles, I haven't played FS (the GBA version) and TP (sad, but true). Until I buy a Wii and a 3DS, I don't think I'll ever play FS and TP (considering FS will be downloadable and the WiiU won't be able to play GC games...I've heard that the GC version is better as well as the fact that GC games and Wiis will be cheaper once the WiiU comes out).

Indeed I was. I noticed I was being inactive on the forum, so I decided to leave. It was best for ZU, there was a lot of things going on in my life at the time, and that took more priority than ZU. But I left the mods in the helpful care of my adoptee: Melpomene. She became my replacement. Well after I left, I took a hiatus from ZU and now I've returned and have become a little bit more active. Will I return to being a mod? Eh...only if they really need my help, but if not, then no.
