There were so many instances like the one, for instance, where I'd run up those anti-gravity cylinder things in the space levels, try to jump to another one over a pit, and have Sonic or Shadow just completely fall off or not attach to the next one instead of making the leap, all due to poor controls and programming.
Oh, it's not nearly as bad as Heroes and Shadow. Then again, not much is.
One of the things that absolutely infuriates me is that if they kept Sonic Unleashed to Sonic-only stages, that game would have been awesome. But they had to "try something new" with the Werehog, and it ended up ruining the entire game.

It's sort of a guilty pleasure thing. I admit I have fun playing it from time to time-- if only to make fun of it. It's a terrible freaking game, not even just because it's not a "true Sonic game", but because the way it was thrown together sucks. The story's stupid and uninteresting, the music sucks for the most part, the controls are horrid in every mode, the programming is abysmal (I mean, if you simply walk into a wall, your character spazzes out), and the only gameplay that didn't bore me out of my goddamn mind was Sonic and Shadow's. I cannot possibly see how so many people like this game.

I agree that some of this is subjective, but some of it's not. There are a lot of things about this game that people cannot deny are bad without plain lying to themselves.

EDIT: Although I readily admit it's a lot better than the original SA (which isn't saying much, but still). I can't believe many people say the first is better than SA2, because it's worse in almost every regard.
