True, but that's pretty much the case with most sonic games. But I prefer to control sonic all ways. and besides, the wiimote pretty much killed this game.

Eh, the older Sonic games involved a lot more platforming.
Which is one reason I feel Rush wasn't as good-- it's a game that basically plays itself. It's all about going fast, so hold down right and jump occasionally and you win. But in the Genesis games if you did that, you'd die a lot.
That's one of the successes of the day stages in Unleashed, in my opinion-- it's not as "plays itself" as some of the other Sonic games. Being in 3-d, you have to do more things to control yourself instead of just having it go.
I've also noticed that Sonic Team seems to be better at games that can be played in bursts/are mission-based, in an almost arcade fashion. The other game I think they did well on was NiGHTS on Wii, which I immensely enjoyed (besides the mediocre platforming levels). It was really fun to go back and try to get the highest grade on the missions. It's the same case with Unleashed's day stages. I think they should do more games like that.
As a side note, Unleashed was fine with a GameCube controller. =D
