Eh, to understand Nietzsche, one must understand that he uses much sarcasm. When he said "God is dead", he meant that God is dead in a philosophical & moral sense, in that we can no longer rely on him to guide us, and we must forge our own way. Nietzsche also supported being self-overcoming. One must always strive to be better than they are, and to challenge convention & authority. To be "you".

And the Modern-day Faust is more in a relation to my constant pursuit to know everything. Knowledge is power, and I want more of it. People forget that Faust was a sorcerer before he sold his soul to Mephistopheles. He was perusing knowledge, and power.
