Nope. The mirror images were created the moment the two of them set foot on that wooden platform. Think of it like a picture. The picture recreates everything visually at a specific time, but anything before and after is entirely missing. The mirror images carry the looks, mentality, skill and equipment of Carca and Bicriu when they got onto the platform, but nothing else.
It's an RPG over at another Zelda site I go to, legendofzelda.com. It's run by the staff, pretty much the only roleplaying we have going on over there, besides small RPs in a different board.
Use my description after Palomino's post and have them proceed upwards. Carcaroth will insist that they do so (because he "remembers"). When they've gotten to the third platform, everything will become hazy, but nothing will happen. At the sixth platform, they will start hearing voices. At the eighth, they'll start seeing sillhouettes of people in the haze. On the tenth platform, they will encounter "mirror" versions of themselves.
Well, you could have your character run into my character before or after he enters the forest, or they could just happen to be going the same way. But it's not like my character is determined to go into the woods alone.
