RE: first paragraph - I know, exactly. That's why it was such a surprise to me when people like Mike and Saber were saying that you were aiming to lock the count. It didn't make sense because of all that you've done for the count so far.

RE: second paragraph - I have no objection in principle to the Clan Arena CT. I just don't think it should result in the replacing/closing of the count. After all, for almost a year, on and off, there have been many--such you and me--who've invested a lot in it and become rather dedicated to it.

Anyway, I too apologize if I've been too brash or kicked up a ****storm last night. It's just that I'm still really jaded over the revoking of the clan access privileges a few weeks ago. And this issue has many parallels with that, and I just got determined not to let another good thing be stripped away. Any sort of major changes that result in upsetting a good many people are not worth it and not necessary. Since the count has been around this long, I see no reason to lock it now.

Not that I'm saying you're trying to or want to lock it. I'm just elaborating on my stance and why I reacted in the way that I did.

And if you'll notice, I put in a note before I went to bed for everyone to calm down (knowing that it would jeopardize the thread).

Anyway, I would've gladly talked to you on IRC about it, but you weren't on at the time. And I felt the need to stem the tide of count opposition in your absence (for better or for worse). For before I came along yesterday, it was becoming simply a foregone conclusion that the count would be closed, and I figured that's not what you'd been going for--I had figured you to be with me on all this.

I don't know for exact what'll happen, but maybe my past thread would help revive the clan arena. What do you think?

Should I try recreating the thread now, or wait until whatever you're planning to do to revive the clan arena takes effect (to make sure it's not dead by the time you do whatever it is)?
