I think the price of dorms vs. apartments varies by the situation. I know UCR dorming blows. It's WAY more expensive to dorm than to live off campus, and it looks way worse to me (I never dormed). Some people say it's part of the "college experience." It makes it sound tempting, but if I had to pay more to share a small room with two other people, a bathroom with six, a shower with a whole hall, and no kitchen, I'd rather skip out on the "college experience" thing. Thaaats just me, though. =P

Best bet is to find roommates. Possibly through craigslist or facebook. But I think for facebook, you have to add yourself to the network.

Definantly. I love learning what makes a person think the way they do. And like, what happens in a persons life to make them have the mindset that they do, you know what I mean? 17 ouch! I think I'm around 9,000 this year, and it's going to increase this January. And I have to have them re-evaluate my parents' income because I told them they did it wrong. So they're going to do it again in Spring. Which doesn't work because I'm independent now. So that's something else to worry about. ;_;
