So, this girl I know--for years she's always been the girl who guys would turn to so they could pass on their love interest messages through her to her friends. She told herself for a long time that it didn't bother her. Without realising it, or maybe she denied it, this began to influence how she saw herself--she didn't think she was attractive at all, just the smart girl that guys would see as "one of the boys". It was even expected of her from friends/family. She'd built a reputation of it, but deep down it ****ed her off like nothing else. It makes her wonder how she ever got out of that, but she sees now it just took a guy to look beyond her appearance for her to feel she was more than what she was labelled.
