Actually, scratch that. I just read the entire chapter of Endless Eight, and it only covers the one day. (and therefore it hasn't even a 15,499th iteration)

I've just checked. The first episode of endless eight was not written, while the first day which was written had Nagato say it was the 15,498th iteration, exactly the same as the second endless eight episode.

Yup, but I forget the exact number. I'll go check later.

Having atleast eight eps of this would propel the series into legendary status.

In the short story, didn't Nagato also mention how many times they realized that they were in a time loop?

    Haha... nice.

...15,496? Is that number special in any way? Meh. Seriously though, I'm going to guess they'll do eight episodes of Endless Eight. They certainly won't stop on four.

Nah, they won't touch the doppelganger plot in season 2. It's too far apart chronologically from the main plot of season 1. And I think they've got enough brains not to break chronology that much.

True. Still, I could see the development team playing with fan expectation in the area of episode placement.

I think it'd be interesting if they just do the whole thing chronologically, maybe even starting with the 6 eps of the 1st book, and then moving to Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody and then Crazy 8s, and then Disappearance and maybe even add some eps with the some bits of the Dopplegangers from later stories. . .

Not if they try doing it in the same style as they did the first season.

Of course, they'll need to place Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody before the events of volume four. But chapters one through five of the fourth book can't be placed in anything except that exact order without breaks. (But then, I would've said the same for episodes 2, 3 & 5 of the first anime season. :/)

I guess for other episodes they could use the second book.

But in lack of an official translation available, it's fine for me.
I guess that must also be my stance while we are deprived of said official translation.

In either case, it seems we both prefer the show. You prolly know that season 2 at the moment is a complete unknown in terms of release, but do you honestly think that the 4th book (if you've read it) will translate well into a solid show?
