as far as I'm concerned, winning is proving you are the better player by killing your opponent more times than they kill you, right? Isn't that the object of the game, Super Smash Bros? Can we at least agree on that? So when I play Super Smash Bros, I am going to try to kill my opponent, say, 5 times, before he kills me 5 times. If I do that, I win. Okay? So, if you put the information in those two sentences together, I am going to try to win.

So if I'm not trying to win, what am I trying to do? Am I trying to lose? Trust me, we've had matches of 'lets see who can kill themselves first', and they were not fun.

well i made another post after seeing yours. that should clear things up. The only problem I have with high tier characters is the fact that they get picked solely on their tier position(although that sometimes happens with lower tier characters to). It is merely something I look down. The problem i have with "playing to win" is the message it sends. also people use prostitutes for sexual release much like people use characters they dont care about for more of a advantage, not caring about the character.

First: if that is not your point, then why did you write: "If I "play to win" what is stopping me from just blatantly cheating?"
    And:
"It is possibly the most arrogant statement I hear in that scene, and really needs to be abandoned as a attitude. Like I said what is stopping me from cheating especially if i can get away with it."

So you state that the '[main] problem I have with the competitive scene is that "playing to win" attitude', and that you didn't know 'what is stopping me from cheating', especially if you can get away with it. And then you went on to compare using high-ranked characters to using a prostitute. I'll admit, I'm a real sucker for analogies, but that one went over even my head.

So, if Playing to Win = Cheating is not your main point, please enlighten me. I'm beginning to sound stuck up and arrogant at your lack of coherent main point. And I hate being stuck up.

Yeah. Your point was that people who play to win will inevitably find themselves cheating to win, right? What did I miss?
