Well, old friend, you may have slipped away from us again, but we're still thinking about you.
Happy Birthday, Kedisar! Though I hope you see this, don't spend the whole of this great day in front of the comp.

Kedsy come back. . . you're missing the debauchery of the
ZU Awards. . . ;_;
-
Ring cycle, it's some Japanese books.
-
Ring, as in The Lord of the Rings? Read the first book, watched the first two movies.
^^; If that's not what you're talking about, then. . . i don't get it.

-sorry for the triple post, I kept getting cut off-
And reply on my wall so I know when you posted. I never realized that you had replied until I checked your visitor wall. . . That and getting the little message that says "you have visitor mail" feeds my delusions that I'm not just some lonely girl in a foreign country *-_-*

I almost went to Korea, too, since it's just a jump across the Japan sea, and the Yen was doing so well against the Won that would have been the equivalent of about $300 for a five day, round trip to go romping around in Korea land, but alas, I no longer have room in my budget for such extravagances ;_;...
@_@ And I had know idea you lived in Louisiana! Or maybe I did at one point way back, but now age deteriorates my memory. I've romped around there to visit family a while back, but that was before all the Katrina mess. Is it still wonky in the pelican state? And do I sense anxiety about moving (har, or the complete opposite since you call it the "accursed" place)?

^^ I go to The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, good old Tar Heels -tear- and don't even mention worthless BA's. . . my adviser has pretty much told me from the beginning that a linguistics bachelor's is nice, but if I want to actually do anything in the field, I'm going to need a Master's, at least.
Yay, for an additional four years of school.
As for Japan, the giant robots are a lie (I'm reminded of a man wearing a cardboard box with the words "I am GUNDAM!!!" scribbled in crocked, childlike letters on the front), but the maid cafes are quite real. I prefer the 執事 (man maid *^^*) cafe's more, though. Cute guys in uniform serving and calling me princess is a little more relevant to my interest. That's not to say that the regular maid cafes are lacking in any way. . .
