I understand. The thing is, a lot of myths are actually the same, but they are worded differently. Courage, for example, is defined in Western culture as "facing one's fears", but in Eastern culture as "standing against the forces of the world". But considering that to stand against the world, you must acknowledge it, it actually comes down to the same thing.

Darkness is the same. Evil is interpreted very similarly in both Western and Easten culture, so there's going to be a lot of parallels. But those parallels are usually fragmented; the details and functions as a whole are generally different. Mikaboshi is the first exception that I have seen; the way that it relates to evil is practically identical to the symbolism of Darkness in the Zelda universe. It's not a fragmented thing, like Ganon being a Satan figure; it's the real deal. That's why I'm excited about this.

Just wanted to let you know that I'm not trying to just be a stubborn ass in disagreeing with you [a this point] on the Japanese mythology thing. I just think people tend to take story elements and say "ooh, this came from this legend" a little too often. I think a lot of the time, similarities are just coincidences.

I would personally argue that a gap is needed between FSA and ALttP regardless of whether OoT is the SW. I mean, the connection is as bad as the original OoT-ALttP connection was. It's too hard to stomach.

If the developers meant to directly connect FSA to ALttP, they would have facilitated that connection clearly in FSA's ending. And no, the Four Sword appearing in a bonus dungeon does not explain how Ganon was able to get into the Dark World from his prison. He couldn't do that outside of the prison.

So you do not believe FSA to lead directly into AlttP then?

UC isn't really a problem for me. The problem was that the RE theorists wanted to account for all sources as canon, and didn't like the idea of retcons. I personally wanted the retcons because I didn't like all the random offshoot bits of evidence that I couldn't personally collect.

The IW (SW, as you call it) is an independent event, like LoZ's back story, AoL's back story, TWW's back story, TMC's back story, etc. The Evil King Ganon was "born" when he took the Triforce during the IW, but this is a different incarnation of the character from OoT, with different origins. I think within its own context, the word "born" is acceptable even if the character has appeared before.

Ganon was born during the SW. This can't be OoT child ending. This leaves TP and FSA.
TP does not have 7 sages (it has 5) not does any sealing happen.
FSA has shrine maidens and not sages. Also no sealing of the SR happens.

Explain the SW.

I'm reading that now. It is quite interesting. I started theorizing after the split was "confirmed" so I never dealt with any linearists.

also I have one more question about your timeline. I don't see very many CT placers here. So I'm wondering what reasons there are for placing games on the CT. If you could link me to a thread or just tell me what the reasons are that would be great.
