I liked Going Postal but Making Money let me down a bit. Same old, same old.

Personally, I like any book that features Death. He's awesome. However, Night Watch and Monstrous Regiment have got to be my favorites.

Haven't actually read Making Money yet, Moist never really grew on me but I've always enjoyed the Wizards so looking forward to the next one too.

Nah, that was the Stalking Dark, or something along those lines from 'THUD!'. The Gonne was a firearm that persuaded people who held it to kill others, and in one instance killed someone for the reason that he could resist the temptation of it's power and tried to mass produce it.
I thought it similar because it's a weapon that gets people to kill by it, then takes matters into it's own hands when it is unable to do so.

By "The Gonne" do you mean the nameless thing that stalked Vimes and was defeated by him within his own head? The whole "who watches the watchmen" bit?

It's been a while since I read it and I don't fully remember what it would have to do with Majora.
