Well, I ended up opting for an intensive language course instead (it's a lot of work and makes my head hurt).

I'm a bit of a misanthropist, so I would probably choose to start running again rather than do Aikido. But we'll see how I feel in the spring when I need to choose a new activity.

    Thanks! (Jehanne? )

Aye, this whole situation had almost made me lose my thirst for anything, I've never felt depression or lethargy like it, so I willed myself out of the door and back to the only thing I've been truly good at.

Get back to Aikido ASAP! I've only done a two hour guest course on Aikido and it's a brilliant art. By all accounts, you'd be a good candidate to get stuck into Shotokan!

I like the thread you started in the GCC. I've been where you are (we moved to our current city just over a year ago, and it took me a year to finally secure even part-time work). I thought about doing Aikido again, but the timing would be difficult. Getting involved in some sort of physical activity is always a good idea, I think. You feel better emotionally, psychologically, and physically.
