I'm not familiar with the playing styles of all those guys, per say. But there's a really amazing recording I heard of Tchaik piano trio with Kogan, Guteman, and Richter. Kogan's sound is just ****ing amazing. Really fine player. Old Russian school I would assume is his background. Yea, I'm a sucker for the ol' russian school players. Kogan is just brilliant.

I've been listening to Emerson's version of the Beethoven string quartets lately.
Dude, Op. 131 is so amazing. also, op. 132 second movement is really really nice. Just thought I'd share.
So who's your ultimate favorite violinist of all-time these days? Like the one who's sound you keep coming back to?
On cello it would have to be Heinrich Schiff for me. He's a bad-Azz.

I'll be a senior in performance. I'm at a conservatory in Kansas City. It's not too-bad of a school. Some of the professor and other students are quite amazing. the others...meh....
