Also, does it really matter if Adrien and Leita aren't there? Shrub isn't going to be participating in a False Knight sequel (as far as I'm concerned), so either it happens without her or it simply will not happen. It's better if it does happen than if it doesn't.

By not finding them? :p By having them stumble upon some jolly fat barman who saw them disappear into nothingness and have the characters come to some conclusion based on that? Really, get those creative juices running and I'm sure you can come up with something.
