Oh! I'm on Page 609 of A Game of Thrones. All hell has broken loose, and I'm loving it. Sansa's perspective is fascinating to read, but the actual character irritates me somewhat. Her fanciful daydreams of Ser Loras Tyrell (who is the best knight in the book - fact) and Joffrey are just so laughable, I can't help but pity the girl. She's well and truly away with the fairies (British phrase for the crazies). I hate Catelyn. Glad Robert's dead. Furious with George R.R. Martin for leaving a hundred- page gap (I counted) between Jon's climactic discovery of the Others and his next chapter. I'm furious.

Oh! Yes, I love Dany as a character, although I'm starting to lament the graphic beginning of every single chapter xD. Oh! Viserys' death was magnificent, but I'm sad. I adored Viserys.

I'm feeling very original-fiction-y tonight. Too bad all that lies down that road is planning ;__;

You have no idea. In all my life, I have never found an outlet so rewarding as writing. I haven't been doing it for very long, but I feel as if I have finally found something that I can do that I'm actually proud of the results.

As far as planning goes, I hardly do any at all. I may come up with certain plot elements or specific situations that I want to add in, but as far as the main story is concerned it just flows out as I write. It's hard to explain, really, but it's almost random. And somehow, amidst the blocks that materialize from some unknown oblivion that is my brain, a story is born.

I think it odd, myself. My wife calls it "divine intervention" . Go figure that one out.

P.S. Thanks for the picture comment. Yes, there is some more work to be done with the cover, but I just don't feel like I have the energy this week. I've had a wedding to go to (got rather blended ), my work is getting a crazy, we had to put our cat down, and a general slurry of other unimportant yet blaring events that have sapped my will to stare at this monitor for any longer than necessary.

I have lots of other things I want to do with it, but, for now, I just wanted general impressions and to show my progress. Thanks again for the input. I'll be putting it to good use sometime in the near future!
