He regenerates, can shapeshift, and has control over all insects, in addition to being able to consume anything and using sharp bones as weapons.

His shapeshifting lets him fit into any space and hide in any shadow.

Oh, and he speaks with missing letters because he can't quite form a working mouth and vocal cords.

I think, perhaps, he still counts as scary.
