Let's Playing on Ubuntu?

I got my new HDD, but I now seem to have a pirated version of XP. As such, I can't get the necessary service packs in order for it to run properly. So, if possible, I'm gonna have to use Ubuntu for now.

Is Let's Playing possible with Ubuntu? I'm mostly gonna have to do emulators and stuff obviously. But what about my Dazzle? Do I have to kiss LPing goodbye until I can afford a legit copy of Windows 7?

I tried Googling it, but don't see much at all on the subject.

Wine + emulator. Try that.

Or you could look for a Linux build of the emulator you want.

No idea about screencapturing software, though. Obviously you'll need a build compatible with Ubuntu.

OR YOU COULD MAN UP AND EDIT THE REGISTRY ON YOUR XP INSTALL SO THAT IT STOPS THINKING IT'S PIRATED.

But I'm not allowed to advocate that, probably.

Maybe you could try another version of Linux? I've heard Mint is pretty good...
