Yep, so I've been LP'ing for three months. I don't claim to be amazing, but I'd like to think I'm improving at a decent rate. Suggestions are welcome and encouraged, of course, because if they weren't, I'd still totally suck at this!

And if I had to pick a "Part 1" to watch, it would be the one from my Yoshi's Story LP, which is the one I've started most recently.
Of course, every Part 1 is chock full of explanation, so this isn't any different.



I guess this kind of thing is also worth showing.

I like your commentary for the most part and I can respect greatly that you don't do that annoying fast talking "Chuggaconroy" thing that he used to do. (I'm told he stopped, don't actually watch him because I don't like him)

but most of the new lets players I've seen copy it to get popular or something and it's annoying.

Yeah, I can see that. I think that the pace and emphasis of commentary should generally fit the nature of the game being played. Overly enthusiastic fast-talk almost seems disrespectful to certain games that are meant to be leisurely or atmospheric.

I'm a fan of Chugga's, but his work can be pretty hit-and-miss. I like his Let's Plays most when he's either clearly having fun and not overblowing his reactions, or he's taking an emotional game very seriously as he did Okami. A fair number of people would probably agree his LP did that game justice, and that's no easy feat.

Yeah, it bothers me when people are obviously not being themselves or not reacting in a way they normally would at all.

Sometimes it's fine if it's for entertainments sake (and actually works) but when it's obviously just to make money (like it is for some lpers)

Then I can't respect it.
