Recording yourself playing vidya and talking about it is the obviously hip thing to be doing these days on the internet, and since my swag is literally through the roof I can't just let it pass me by, right?

I guess I've been doing this for nearly a year now (holy ♥♥♥♥), and now, at over 100 subscribers (holy ♥♥♥♥) I can safely say... LPing is pretty cool.

Oh, yeah for sure. I just don't expect the technical issues to take too long to iron out once I have time to experiment.

Choppyness is better, but still not perfect.

I tried another SNES game in my emu and it seemed to run better. I think DKC might just be choppy by nature. I dunno. :|

So awsome Donkey Kong is really hard I know when I was a kid I died in some of the first lvls too haha... xD

When I play it without commentary I don't die in the first levels. :<. I think my best run of the first game is around 85 minutes.

Sort of. When I messed around with that option it seemed to fix some of the video choppiness.

Episode 2: Loved your underwater rant!

This was without a doubt one of the best new let's plays I've seen.

Commentary was fun and the choice of the game was a good one, mostly because you can tell that it is one you had a lot of experience with.

Don't worry about the deaths either, most people don't like seeing a perfectly rehearsed let's play where nobody dies or fails at all. (and it is about entertainment and not quickest speed, no?)

Few technical issues, didn't really bother me though. Will subscribe.

Thanks! I have Episode 4 recorded (It's a bit longer than I had originally anticipated... about 22 mintues... I ♥♥♥♥ed up a fair bit haha), and I'll be putting it up tomorrow morning.

There is a balance though. Unless it's a game like Super Meat Boy where the dieing is a huge part of the game, if you die too much it's a good idea to edit some of it out, because you'll start being repetitive and people will start getting bored.

So yeah. Death is good and entertaining (especially when you rage over it ), but you can also have too much of a good thing.

Well if you're dying like 50 times on a stage and it's taking like 20 minutes when it should only take 5 I guess editing a some of that out would be fine.

Or make a montage. Everyone loves a montage.

Montage is fun too!

Or one thing my buddy lastexile0 does every once in a while is speeding up the video where all the failures are. Sped up deaths and raging chipmunk style.

Both of these are excellent ideas. The speed up things is hilarious.

But yeah, the extra time on Episode 4 is largely due to some of the levels in World 4 just being longer in general, so failures cost more time.
