6/10, but don't be too offended by that. The controls made the game, and it was a good step for Nintendo to keep this series fresh. I feel like most of the work put in this game was the controls; therefore the story was lackluster, the dungeons were more annoying than fun, the recurrance of the Temple of the Ocean King seemed lazy, and the overworld, islands, and music were SOOOOO BORING. Outside of the controls and come creativity here and there, the game was pretty lame and uninteresting, sorry.
However, on a side note, since the controls worked so well, I feel that Nintendo had more time to make a more interesting game in Spirit Tracks. Judging by just the trailer, it looks like it'll be much more interesting than Phantom Hourglass.
So again, don't get offended and cry a river because I didn't give a great score to a Zelda game (no offense, but that happens alot here); I just thought
PH was dull, but I applaud it for doing something new and getting the maximum out of the DS. And after seing the trailers for Spirit Tracks and experiencing how well-done the controls for Phantom Hourglass were, maybe the DS Zelda games may be a more cherished part of the series than we think.
