What you mean, is not the "2nd Quest". The 2nd Quest (or Hero's Quest) starts a new game, just like when you use no passwords at all, but you have four heart containers, you can copy your old rings and the file will have a Triforce symbol. You get that password (the Hero's Secret), when you beat Ganon. It's normally used to play in the opposite direction again and to get all 64 rings. But overall it's not different from what you've played without using passwords. If you used the Hero's Secret, which you saw, you have probably already noticed that.
What you want, is a password for a "linked game". The Holodrum/Labrynna secret. This is, when you continue playing from the other game, in your case Seasons. Just google for "Oracle secrets generator" and you will find this:

With this awesome tool you can generate any password you want. Including ring secrets. Pretty handy, huh? ^^
Just select "Ages" and "Continuation (linked game)" and enter your name, the animal you want and the name and the behavior of the child. You can also print a secret to get any rings you want. I love this tool.
