DS or DSi?

Hello! I haven't done much posting on here, so none of you know who I am but I was just wondering if Spirit Tracks would be suitable only for the DSi or if it could be used with the DS Lite, because I would like to buy a console that I can play both Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks on and I heard that Spirit Tracks might be DSiware? Thanks for any help or suggestions.

It'll work on all versions of the DS.

Spirit Tracks is not DSiware, it can be suitable for DSL. If you have a DSL, you needn't to buy a DSi for ST. If you don't, I think DSi is a better choice.

Stick to the DS Lite. DS games are all the same, so it really doesn't matter what version of the system you get. I would just suggest DSLite simply because of the GBA compatibility.

It will not be DSi only, but it is rumored that it might be DSi enhanced. Meaning that it can be played on a DS/Lite, but there will be features that will only be unlocked by playing on a DSi. Like the advanced shop in OoX could only be unlocked by playing them on a GBA/SP.

def be for both, if you don't have a ds at all, I obviously recommend going for the dsi, I have a lite but if i had the chips, I would buy a dsi.

not true. nintendo officially stated they they WILL be DSi exclusive cards, and DSi enhanced cards.

ST is CONFIRMED to be playable on all DSs, but there is no word as to wether or not it is DSi enhanced.

The DSi sucks.

It will run on all DS systems, but it's a safe bet, that it will probably be DSi enhanced. I guess, it will take use of the possibility of downloading stuff to a SD card. Maybe a downloadable bonus dungeon. Or a level editor for the multiplayer mode, something similar to the stage builder. Some exclusive feature you can't use with an older version of the DS.

Nintendo does that all the time (Link's Awakening DX, GBA shop in Oracles or Tingle Tuner in TWW for example).

I'm personally worried about this, because I'm NOT buying a DSi, but it has 2x as much cpu power as the DS and this means we could see some DSi exclusives... I'm just crossing my fingers that if they do do this, they won't release a DSi exclusive Zelda game.

- Reverse compatibility with GBA games
- Longer battery life
- Cheaper

Advantages of the DSi:

- Can connect to the Internet with WPA security
- Has the benefits of DSi exclusive or DSi enhanced games
- Has a slightly larger screen, and a (rather bad) camera

Yeahhh true

I never take that stuff into account, I just use an iPod for music and the laptop for Internet anyway (or the phone for both). I guess it's good if you want it all rolled into one package.

I'll always choose DS Lite over DSi because of being able to play the GBA games on it.

Thanks! I think I will go for the DSi because I don't want to miss out on any extra features XD. Although the camera sounds terrible and I think that may be a wasted feature...

DS > DSi > DS Lite

I just prefer the shape of the original DS. It's nice and solid and I like the feel of it in my hand. The DS Lite looks like a rectangle and when I hold one I feel like I could snap it in half by accident.

But on the actual subject of the thread, Spirit Tracks will certainly work on all three devices.

It seems like every time I get a new game system, another, better one comes out ^_^'.
Anyway, it will work on all systems, definitely.

I'll probably get a DSI but my DS will still see plenty of action(I have pokemon Diamond and Platinum version). On topic it will probably be DSI enhanced. Just like TP they'll use it to promote their new system.

It works on all versions of the DS but I heard if you have a DSi it has some added features. Not sure if its true though
