HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE
At the end of PH, the priates basically tell Link that he was gone ten minutes, right? At least that's what I heard.
But you can get up to 25 minutes on your Phantom Hourglass, and it's entirely possible to use them all. Some0ne help me cause my brain's gonna explode.

Re: HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE
What happenend during the game didn't happen in the real world, but in some kind of dream world. Think Link's Awakening with an entire ocean instead of one single island and you get the picture.
This is why only 10 minutes passed for the pirates, while you experienced a couple of days.

Think The Pagemaster.
Why, oh why, do I remember that movie?

Re: HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE
Remember how the Sands of Hours can also be used to manipulate time?
Yeah.

Re: HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE
Well, it was Linebeck's wish to the Ocean King, that he wanted to go on travelling with his boat. Much like Marin asked the Windfish, that she wants to be a seagull. You see both of them at the very end of the game in the real world, their wishes fulfilled.

Re: HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE
There's no mystery here. Lock the thread. The pirate's quote had nothing to do with the Sands of Hours. Link thought he and Tetra were out for a month or so, (maybe) but they were only dreaming. and the dream by the pirate's point of view was only 10 minutes long. No big paradox there.

Marin was part of that dream world, but if you complete the game without dying, you get that special ending with the seagull, and most argue that that certain part means that Marin's wish was granted... yet that part is seen by Link his real world, and not the dream world. So, since PH is very much like LA, it's probable that Linebeck's wish was granted despite the fact that Link meets him in a different world, making it possible for Link to see him in his real world.

Re: HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE
The Ocean kin's world is not the same as the one Link and Zelda are from so they do not use the same time. Also theories about Ciela being able to control time has been used to explain this but I don't think she has enough power to do that. The Ocean King says very clearly in the end that it is now time for Link and Zelda to return to their own world.
