Hmm, I personally have no grudge on any of the DS titles, as I do not own a DS. It doesn't look that bad, I just don't like the idea of traveling on a train... Epona >

Re: Spirit Tracks might be the disappointment of the year

I won't be disappointed. My expectations for this game are low, but I know I'll be enjoying it anyways. I didn't want another PH.

And the bad guy better not be Bellum. I never want to see Bellum again. Final bosses need to be people, not floating eyeballs. (Vaati is OK.) They need to have a past and a motive and a personality. They should not be destructive monsters, but evil, power-hungry people.

Re: Spirit Tracks might be the disappointment of the year

The biggest disappointment of the year would require the biggest expectations of the year. Twilight Princess was a huge disappointment, because everyone hoped for the best thing since sliced bread, or at least since Ocarina of Time. Spirit Tracks won't be disappointing, because oviously no one expects anything from this game.

Edit: Of course you could argue, that you expect at least something from a Zelda game, but oh well...

I'm pretty sure the layout of the tracks changes during game play.

Watch the trailer and look at the top screen.

Maybe you can draw the tracks yourself

I will be purchasing the game when it comes out. I've only seen the trailer, so yeah. It does look pretty lame but I'm going to at least give it a chance. My expectations are high though, I mean, it IS a Zelda game nonetheless.

Re: Spirit Tracks might be the disappointment of the year

I'm buying it as soon as it comes out. I'm doing that because i think there will be some great highlights in the game, like the music. The trailer music without all the sounds in the background is a REALLY good song. ( i have it on my ipod ) There wasn't any highlights in PH because it was the worst WW copy EVER. (and the only BE GLAD) Even the music was a copy. The ocean theme was terrible! I'm not saying it's a bad game, it was just a stupid copy of one of my favourite games. But ST gave me the feeling that there was going to be some things that surprise me, and stick in my memory. ( like TP,WW, and ALttP) I don't think any zelda game is a let down. You just have to look at the good qualities. Even if they're hard to find

Oh well.... see, the trailers of Phantom Hourglass had really awesome music too (a remix of the Dark World and Hyrule Castle themes from A Link to the Past), so a lot of people thought "at least this game will have great music". But then these tracks weren't in the final game and you know how the rest of the soundtrack sounded like. So, I wouldn't get my hopes up too much about the music. But one of the reasons, why Phantom Hourglass was lacking good music, was that Koji Kondo didn't have enough time for this game. This might be different in the case of Spirit Tracks, hopefully.

Re: Spirit Tracks might be the disappointment of the year

The game looks pretty much just like Phantom Hourglass, but link has a train instead of a boat, you can controll a phantom, and link wears a fruity little conductors outfit I want not a wierd outfit and a holepunch. what is he gonna do, take Ganons ticket
I dont think it will be too horrible, but they need to drop the Wind Waker/Phantom Hourglass style after this game.
I do agree with MINGLES, here is my prefrences of Zelda transportation
Epona<King of Red Lions<S.S. Linebeck<train
The train just doesn't fit into the Zelda formula for success. Make a DS Zelda game w/Epona instead of a machine, Different art style, and NO FAIRY, they annoy me so much.

ST's music is new, never been anything like it, and is ( IMO) much better.
PS: wheres the dark world theme in it? i dont hear it.

Minish cap is the second best Game Boy Zelda game (a Link to the Past is teh best). I wouldn't mind another console Cel-shaded title, but it is beginning to be a little too overdone on handhelds (4 of the 6 cel-shaded games are portable)

I'm convinced that the train is the only way of travelling across the overworld, just like sailing was the only way for WW and PH

I don't agree with much you say, I mean, give the game a chance. You haven't even played it yet. :O
I for one think it'll be a great game considering it's Zelda, I don't have really high expectations even though i am a hard-core gamer. But, come on, give the game a chance.

ALLTP is a SNES game that was ported to the GBA. So it really doesn't count.
